This costume came from TokyoPop's Princess Ai cover art of volume 2! I wore this costume for Comic Con International 2006! First I gotta say I LOVE the way this manga is drawn, good job Misaho Kujiradou! So this costume was a little bit of a challange and there is a couple things I wish I could of changed. oh well! enjoy!


About the Costume: From head to toe. The wig I bought and then cut, colored, and styled. The chain used at a head band was bought in a local hardware store (same for the neck chains). The top was broken up into panels and worked off of a strapless bra to make it look like it does. The top was completely free hand sewn. The long arm band was made of fabric and belt scraps. The choker was bought and I added the chain and studds to make it more like the picture. The silver peices on the top was buttons. The skirt was a altered skirt pattern and sewn by me. The belts were bought various threft stores that were then re-painted. The belts did have malfunctions. When I weaved the belts together they needed something to keep them that way so I used this admissive tape stuff to hold  them together, unfortunately that didn't last so you can see them falling appart in some of the pictures. =(  Last, the wings wear made out of chicken dyed feathers, and the raw fform was made out of sticks and then paper mached. Then each feather was carefully placed for the form of the wings. Then after theat the wings were drilled into a acrylic board that flex a little and had elastic attached so they can stay on my back.
